Job Description
The Control & Functional Architecture Team is part of FICC & GD Core IT, providing cross-product knowledge and expertise, not only within Core IT, but also across the Securities Division Business IT Teams. The team helps to define and drive Cores strategic technical direction as well as providing structure and process improvements to global projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role requires an understanding of, and the ability to implement, the functional architecture of Core IT. As a senior member of the team, the candidate will be responsible for managing and running initiatives across the firms strategic infrastructures (e.g., SecDb, UTE).
To be effective in this role, the following key skills are required:
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate should be able to gather requirements and analyze their impact on other projects and architecture. They will be required to identify and take ownership of issues and show initiative in resolving them. By working with the global Core IT teams, they will be expected not only to delve into the detail but also take responsibility for working with team members to drive to a resolution.
The Core IT architecture is widely used across the firm and therefore has a large and varied user base. Therefore the candidate must be experienced at dealing with senior members of the firm and be able to build, manage and maintain these key relationships in order to gain buy-in and drive the projects to completion.
In order to keep stakeholders focused and informed, the candidate will be required to manage all means of communication for their projects. Running meetings to ensure the projects move forward and stay on-track; creating and updating project decks to keep senior managers aware of progress etc..
The candidate should be a strong self manager, as well as having the ability to allocate day to day responsibilities within the team to ensure that deadlines are met.
